6 months old

It’s been six months now since I first stepped into this office.

I can still remember my first day at work.

I wore a pink short-sleeved blouse and black slacks, matched with my pair of bronze sandals. I was introduced to the company that morning. Oh boy, I was really nervous. What do they expect of me? Could I possibly get along with them? What if they don’t like me? Oh well…

That day was relatively a boring day for me. All I did was read, read and read. Well I did a little chat on YM and browsed some of my friendsters. But overall, I just read a damn manual. What do I expect? I was on training then.

Okay, enough about my first day. Nothing much happened.

Gosh, time really flies sooo fast. It’s been six months. And nothing much has changed.

Okay, maybe some things have changed. Let me count these things.

1. I have gained new friends. The people in the office are really great people. We are one big family here. Yeah it sounds cliché-ish, but it’s true!

2. My boss is really a promising man! (FYI: It took me 30 minutes thinking of the perfect word to describe him.) I admire his intelligence, confidence, humor and everything. Although sometimes, gusto ko siyang kalbuhin, especially every Monday. Haha!

3. I have been exposed to different people in the corporate world. Jusko, kumusta naman ang kausapin ang presidente ng isang kumpanya diba?!

4. I have learned to become independent… and to make decisions on my own.

5. My sense of direction has improved. Medyo alam ko na kung saan ang Buendia at Ayala. At alam ko na rin na magkaiba ang Pedro Gil at Gil Puyat (akala ko dati iisa lang siya eh).

6. I now know how to operate a fax machine. Yehey! I also have my flat monitor. Yehey ulit! And I have a very comfy chair! Woohoo! At wala ng virus PC ko! Hahaha.

Hmmm.. that’s all for now. Yun lang naisip ko eh.

Shocks, six months… I constantly tell my officemates that I will resign in September, that’s three months from now. Well, we’ll see. Hahahaha. It’s really the people here that make me want to stay more than anything else.

Overall, I enjoyed my stay in this company. The six months I spent here was remarkable.

Six months… that’s half of a year. I wonder how much longer I would stay here…
